Greening O'Hare
July 1, 2010
Cisco Systems just moved into its new office two weeks ago (9501 W. Technology Blvd.), the first LEED Gold office building in the O'Hare submarket—also Ryan Cos.' first Chicago-area office building. It still has 20k SF to lease, a task falling to Colliers Bennett & Kahnweiler's Francis Prock and Steve Kling, here with Ryan Cos.'Tim Hennelly. The building includes an under-floor heating and cooling system and got a bundle of LEED points for being near the airport and Rosemont L station. Despite O'Hare corridor vacancy rates around 25%, the 120k-SF, four-story building is 85% leased. | |
Here's Francis showing us the available space on the fourth floor. Cisco vendor Skyline Technologies and developer The Harp Group also lease space in the building. Tim says it's an ideal location for LEED because the site was a former industrial building. Cisco also earned LEED Platinum on its space. The remaining area could be divided among up to four different tenants (useful, we're told, since it's often difficult to find smaller LEED spaces). CBK has been marketing the property for the last 90 days. |
