Hotel Felix Earns LEED Silver
August 5, 2010
It's officially the first LEED Silver hotel in Chicago. The 225-room Hotel Felix Chicago at 111 W. Huron St. offers free parking for hybrid cars, access to public transit, recycled carpet, bamboo flooring, and fair-trade coffee. (So if you're stealing bathrobes, be sure to compost them.) The hotel recently installed wind turbines to generate its own energy. Designed by Gettys and built in 1926, it was originally an apartment building. |
