IFMA's Power Lunch
July 9, 2009
The average desk jockey gets 68 E-mails each day. Yesterday, the International Facility Management Association's Chicago Chapter learned time management tips from professional organizers at its monthly lunch at the Merchandise Mart. From Piles to Smiles' Sue Becker instructed IFMA members to change their culture; tell tenants to call you instead of E-mail if something needs immediate attention. Then set a higher wait time between the ?send/receives? of your E-mail client. (We promise, you'll still get your Bisnow.) |
Wildman Harrold's Marie Coffee, (right, with Workplace's Jill Stewart and Brinks Hofer Gilson Lione's Jerry DiCola) is one of From Piles to Smiles latest clients. She tells us resisting the inbox-peeking temptation has made her much more productive. Jill has sold furniture to both Marie and Jerry and is currently enjoying touring the country to work with different firms' interior design. |
