KIRKLAND & ELLIS KICKS INTO HIGH GEAR
September 12, 2011
They've got a great new office in Chicago and a fresh infusion of seasoned real estate attorneys. Two of its newest are Andrew Small (above) and Daniel Perlman (below), who joined after more than 18 years of working together at Katten (and after Daniel's four-year stint at Paul Hastings starting in 2007). Andrew and Daniel are generalists when it comes to CRE law, but they're both looking forward to growing the team at Kirkland, which has about 40 real estate attorneys in Chicago and is looking to add more. |
Over the last year, Kirkland gathered a team of big names, including REIT leaders from Mayer Brown who have done mergers like the $14M AMB/Prologis deal and real estate tax attorneys. Daniel says he's looking forward to working with Kirkland's other departments, such as bankruptcy and litigation, which could feed good business into the real estate practice coming out of the recession. Daniel and Andrew, who started working together in 1989, aren't just friends at work either—they enjoy golfing on the weekends and watching University of Michigan sports. |
