Managers' Mental Health
August 13, 2009
Yesterday, the International Facility Managers Association lunched at the Merchandise Mart to chat about a recent Building Owners Management magazine article on managers in the recession. Autoprogram's Traci Sala, Ruggerio & Associates Dom Ruggerio, Ted Moudis Associates Diana Pisone, and OM Workspace's Daryl Sutula-Johnson are leading by example. Dom's working on a renovation of the state's first group home for developmentally and mentally challenged Alzheimer's patients at Devon and Canfield, and Daryl is doing interiors for a 24-hour emergency veterinary clinic at 3927 W. Belmont. |
Building Owner Management senior editor Brandon Lorenz, citing a survey, said facility managers remained relatively satisfied with their jobs, and few felt at risk of being outsourced, since they had to physically work on their building. The only increased dissatisfaction was in the category of under appreciation. (So, hug your building manager today.) |
