NEW ERA FOR HOSPITALITY
April 20, 2010
Hotel brokerage requires a lot more work than it used to, says Paramount Lodging Advisors' Daniel Beider. It used to be a hotel broker would learn about a property as they first listed it; now he and his teammates have spent up to 10 months advising and consulting on distressed or REO hotels across the country prior to taking the asset to market. Paramount is set to close on an REO hotel in Indiana by the end of the month that required eight months of working with the management company they helped the lender select. We stopped by Paramount's River North office to snap Sanjeev Misra, Daniel, Adam Montufar, Walker Geyer, Michael Kitchen, Mark Heisler, Kevin Down, Ben Webster, Brent Clemens, and Milbien Medina. |
Dan founded the company three years ago with partners from NAI Global Hotels and Walker. (Adam and Sanjeev were the first to come on board in Chicago.) With diverse backgrounds from hotel ownership to finance to marketing, each member is more than just a broker. They do their own research and analysis and have recently started up a social media marketing program. Paramount has 10 brokers in its Chicago office and eight offices in he US, Canada, and Europe. |
