OFFICE GOING STEADY IN Q1

| Transwestern released its quarterly market report on the CBD office markets yesterday, noting overall vacancy reached 15.3%, up from 15.2% last quarter, and 13.7% last year. The only new building under construction is the 800k-SF expansion of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Building at 300 E. Randolph. Total absorption was 540k-SF for Q1, with Boston Consulting Group and Mercer Human Resources Consulting vacating large chunks of space. River North and the East Loop lost the most occupancy, contracting by 296k-SF and 198k-SF respectively. But hey, Glee comes back on the air in Q2. |
