SPOTLIGHT: BUILDING THROUGH UNCERTAINTY

| Reed Construction CEO Bill Birck (here with project executive Scott Pickands) says there's still uncertainly in the CRE market surrounding healthcare reform, European debt, joblessness, and the US economy. But Reed Construction—specialists in interior build-outs—is staying busy with its new contract for Silver Cross Hospital's medical center in New Lenox (including cardiology, surgical care, behavioral health, internal medicine, OBGYN, and sleep centers to name a few). The first phase of the 60k SF facility is due December 2011. Reed also recently completed a $1.8M, 10k SF build-out of the new same-day surgery center at Rush Oak Park Hospital outside Chicago (24 recovery bays, nursing stations, and renovated lobby). The company is no stranger to large projects. Bill's great-greatgrandfather (journeyman plasterer Tom Reed), started the company in 1893 during work for the World's Fair in Chicago.
