Summer in the City
Yesterday, we engaged in two classic Chicago acts: talking about how great downtown is, and drinking outdoors. And like the last day of summer camp, we shared a wistful goodbye to Realcomm. |
42nd Ward Alderman Brendan Reilly kicked off the evening speaking on the history of Chicago zoning codes (trust us, even better in person) for CREW at the Chicago Yacht Club. A two year incumbent, Brendan refuses to take campaign contributions from developers (relieving himself from the fate of certain other Illinois politicians). But he's already accomplished a lot for his downtown ward, bringing Children's Memorial to Streeterville despite the neighborhood's traffic and congestion problems. |
PSI Engineering's Deb Hagerty, Morgan Stanley's Gwen Cohen, Chicago Title's Janet Fagan, and Chicago Economic Development Institute's Nina Fain enjoyed the warm evening on the lakefront. Nina's part of Roosevelt University's Goldie Wolfe Miller Women Leaders in Real Estate, offering scholarships to young women already in the field looking to earn a master's degree. She urges all to apply (well, all young women) before the June 30 deadline. |
