ComEd’s Smart Ideas Opportunity Assessmentt
ComEd senior account manager Katrina Steele serves as the point person for her customers and ComEd. She also connects them with Smart Ideas for Your Business program offers to help them save energy and money. Understanding that energy usage is not a fixed cost for her customers, Steele is committed to bringing them energy-saving ideas. Savings can be found through lighting, HVAC, chillers or enhanced motor control. The process is easy and generally starts with a request from Steele or another account manager for a ComEd energy engineer to visit and assess the facility. Within two weeks, the customer will receive a summary letter outlining recommended energy improvements (examples: install occupancy sensors, retrofit T12 fluorescent lighting, replace metal halide lighting, etc). Each suggestion includes estimated energy and cost savings, project cost, potential incentives, and simple payback. Businesses receiving assessments that move ahead with the recommended energy-saving projects receive cash incentives. A few of ComEd’s recently satisfied customers include True Value, JLL, and the Alexian Brothers Medical Center (view recent case studies) For more info on how you can benefit from this program, visit ComEd.com/SIOA or contact your account manager.
