TIAA-CREF has picked NAI Hiffman to lease One Parkview Plaza, a 264k SF property at 17 W 110 22nd St in Oakbrook Terrace. NAI Hiffman’s Jim Adler, Dan O’Neill, and Jud Henry will market the space. Invesco, a major tenant, will be leaving the property next year.

PBD Worldwide, a privately held fulfillment company, inked a renewal for 105k SF of industrial space at 905 Carlow Dr in Bolingbrook. Cushman & Wakefield’s Sean Henrick and Jason West, Cassidy Turley’s Chris White, and NAI Hiffman’s Dan Leahy repped PBD.

FLEx Lighting leased 13k SF at 25 E Washington in Chicago. The firm specializes in applying its LED lighting technology to displays in smartphones, tablets, and other mobile devices, as well as in creating new lighting fixtures. Bradford Allen Realty Services’ Josh Feldman repped the tenant.

Shoe Carnival leased 10k SF at Shops at South Elgin in Elgin. Mid-America Asset Management’s Barb Kading repped the landlord, while Colliers International’s Marlon Stone repped the tenant. Shops at South Elgin is a 164k SF shopping center at Randall and McDonald.

American Building Maintenance Co of Illinois leased 8,196 SF of office space at 550-650 Warrenville Rd in Lisle, which is part of the Corporetum Office Campus. NAI Hiffman’s Patrick Kiefer and Jim Adler repped the landlord, Winthrop Realty Trust, while Eric Sorensen of Cushman & Wakefield of Illinois and David Anderson of Fritsche Anderson Realty Partners repped ABM.

The fee interest in a 0.7-acre land site located near Rockford, which is ground-leased to a newly constructed 3,500 SF McDonald’s, traded hands for nearly $1M. Transwestern Chicago office repped both buyer and seller. According to Transwestern managing director Andrew Watson, before the sale, McDonald’s signed a 20-year ground lease with an additional eight five-year options to renew. A private investor bought the site.

CONSTRUCTION & DEVELOPMENT
 
Saratoga Food Specialties, a maker of custom-blended spices and flavorings, completed a 42k SF expansion of its manufacturing facility at 771 Crossroads Parkway in Bolingbrook. The expansion included modifications to an existing space, as well as a new shipping office, restrooms, open work spaces, truckers’ lounge, break room, and locker room. Morgan/Harbour was the GC, while Harris Architects provided architectural services. In a separate project, Morgan/Harbour completed a 33k SF office and hangar for Atlantic Aviation at the Chicago Executive Airport in Wheeling.

Jones Lang LaSalle has hired Robert Kramp as VP and director of research for the Midwest and Great Lakes regions. He comes to the post after a stint in research with the Greater Houston Partnership, an economic development organization. Robert will oversee 10 research analysts at JLL.

Wright Heerema Architects hired Scott Zatt as director of operations, along with 11 other new employees, including senior architects, interior designers, marketing personnel and a project manager. The Chicago-based firm does master planning, architecture, interior design, and other services.
