The fee interest in a 0.7-acre land site located near Rockford, which is ground-leased to a newly constructed 3,500 SF McDonald’s, traded hands for nearly $1M. Transwestern Chicago office repped both buyer and seller. According to Transwestern managing director Andrew Watson,
before the sale, McDonald’s signed a 20-year ground lease with an
additional eight five-year options to renew. A private investor bought
the site. |

Saratoga Food Specialties, a maker of custom-blended spices and flavorings, completed a 42k SF expansion of its manufacturing facility at 771 Crossroads Parkway in Bolingbrook. The expansion included modifications
to an existing space, as well as a new shipping office, restrooms,
open work spaces, truckers’ lounge, break room, and locker room.
Morgan/Harbour was the GC, while Harris Architects provided architectural services.
In a separate project, Morgan/Harbour completed a 33k SF office and
hangar for Atlantic Aviation at the Chicago Executive Airport in Wheeling. |
