James McHugh Construction transformed the 300 level of Chicago?s United Center into the Madhouse on Madison. The Madhouse includes two bars where fans can watch the game. McHugh removed seats, took out precast concrete risers, filled in the area with level concrete floors, and added railing and glass partitions, in time for Bulls and Blackhawks pre-season. Architect: 360 Architecture Inc. *** Englewood Construction, a national commercial construction contractor, announced the completion of an alternative-energy equipment installation at Sloan Valve?s HQ in Franklin Park. The project included the installation of two wind turbines and a solar panel on the roof. The turbines and solar panel are part of an ongoing test by Aerotecture, to help determine which turbine and solar panel equipment work best in urban settings. *** ARCO/Murray National Construction Company completed a 107k-SF tenant build-out for Ball Aerosol Corporation at 1307 Schiferl Road in Bartlett on behalf of Capital Realty & Development's David Matheis and Joel Vetrono and ORIX's Jarred Mayrosh, acting as landlord. ARCO/Murray was contracted to complete the interior office build-out and warehouse upgrades, consisting of modifying the dock positions and upgrading the warehouse lighting. *** ARCO/Murray National Construction Company completed a 22k-SF build-to-suit office building at 4205 Westbrook Drive in Aurora for Wellness Inc. The facility features 16k-SF of office and a small warehouse. The building is steel framed with a brick veneer, and includes brick banding. Wellness Inc. moves into its new facility this week. Ridgeland Avenue in Monee. It included 3,750 square feet of office space, designed to include private offices, shipping/receiving office, lunch room, locker rooms, conference room, and general office space. Principle Construction also constructed 21 new tractor trailer parking spaces including perimeter security fencing. Tom Leathem as Principle's Project Manager;Doug Brucato Superintendent. Research News The University of Illinois-Chicago has contracted Next Parking to perform a comprehensive review of its parking program at the Paulina Street Garage. The analysis includes evaluation of revenues, expenses, budgets, maintenance schedules and billing processes.

Over the last five years, June has represented Zenith in several of their national requirements. Building ownership was represented by Re/Max Horizons Group Commercial. *** Marco Consulting Group signed a lease renewal/expansion for 26k-SF on the ninth floor at 550 West Washington Street in Chicago's West Loop. The firm originally occupied 20k-SF on the ninth floor. *** Transwestern represented the Adler School of Professional Psychology in lease negotiations for its new Chicago campus at One North Dearborn Street. The 15-year lease includes 101k-SF consisting of the entire 15th and 16th floors and approximately 2,500 SF of ground floor space. The Adler School?s new lease will commence on January 1, 2011, doubling the size of the Chicago campus with the move. Transwestern's Phil Utigard and Scott Becker represented the Adler School. MB Real Estate's Kevin Purcell and Gary Denenberg of MB Real Estate repped ownership. *** Sperry Van Ness represented Douglas Centre in Waukegan in two lease transactions totaling over 28k-SF. Dollar General leased 12k-SF, and Talecris Plasma Resources leased 15k-SF. The 66k-SF retail strip center is owned by Douglas Corporation. Sperry Van Ness' Wayne Caplan and John Skalla represented the landlord on these transactions. Dollar General was represented by Millco Investment's Alex Katz. Talecris Plasma Resources was represented by UGL Equis' Ryan Toland. Both tenants project to be open for business 2Q10. *** Paine/Wetzel ONCOR International has completed three relocations for companies in the Chicago metro area totaling nearly 20k SF.

*** Morgan Realty Partners' Bill Waliewski completed three office lease renewals at the Oakmont Business Center in Westmont. K. Masco & Associates, Best Custodial, and Leasing Associates have all renewed leases within the 60k-SF property at 825 N. Cass Avenue. The tenants were all self-represented.
Management Suburban Chicago has its first multi-tenant Silver Certified LEED- Existing Building office building, Oak Brook Pointe at 700 Commerce Drive in Oak Brook. Leased and managed by CBRE, the 214k-SF office is owned by Principal Real Estate Investors. Efficiency upgrades include: addition of variable frequency drives to the domestic water pumps, retrofit of garage lighting, a switch to day-time cleaning, and request only Saturday HVAC service.
People News Ryan P. Walsh has been named associate director focusing on investors and distressed assets at Cushman & Wakefield's Captial Markets Group. Ryan has been a part of Cushman & Wakefield's Capital Markets Group for more than three years, focusing on Midwest investment sales during his tenure. Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, he spent three years at CBRE.
Legal News Five attorneys from Holland & Knight assisted Adler School of Professional Psychology in a complex lease negotiation, moving the school to One North Dearborn Street. The attorneys were involved in drafting and negotiating the school's lease, purchase, and sales agreements. They also drafted and fully negotiated a subordination non-disturbance agreement and reciprocal easement agreement.
