THE FUTURE OF CORENET
May 2, 2011
We believe the young professionals are our future, so we saw the future at The Public House last night as the Young Leaders gathered to kick off the organization's national conference. We snapped Grubb & Ellis' Elizabeth King Forstneger, ConopCo's Lisa Schultz, and JLL's Brian Ginkel and Chris Rohrer there. Brian and Chris were in town from Minneapolis, where they repped advertising firm Olson in a 125k SF lease in downtown Minneapolis. Lisa tells us ConopCo is the project manager for a new 14k SF build out at Pritzker Group Realty's new HQ.
Co-panelists Astek's Andy Swindeler and Mohr Partners' Derith Jarvis are speaking on a panel at the CoreNet conference tomorrow morning. Andy, whose company is developing new web apps, and Derith, who's working on a new economic development consulting business, will talk to attendees about social media.
After winning Best of Show at NeoCon last year, Wilkhahn's Samuel Gowland and Edward Pedrick (here with Oracle's Neil Desai) say they've just released the next big thing: The furniture maker spent four years researching how cars were made so it could design a new four-legged chair stamped and molded out of a sheet of metal and coated in polypropelene (good luck finding a rhyming word for the commercials). They're looking forward to showing it off next month at NeoCon 2011.
