Englewood Construction has been tapped for six new projects throughout the Midwest, including two in Chicago. All projects are slated for completion between now and the end of the year, including the renovation of four Noodles & Co restaurants: two in Wisconsin and two in Kansas.
 
Noodles and Co
In the Chicago area, Englewood Construction has been hired for the expansion and renovation of the Children's Creative Learning Center at 446 E Ontario St in the Onterie Center. The project includes renovating the existing 2,103 SF space and expanding the school into adjacent space on the main floor of the Onterie Center, a mixed-use tower that includes luxury apartments and first-floor retail.The other Chicago project is the build-out of a 13k Advanced Auto Parts store at 7324 N Western Ave.

LEASES

Colliers' Brian Kling and Thomas Condon represented CenterPoint Properties in a 100k SF new long-term lease to Lenze at 125 Wall Street Trail in Carol Stream. Grubb & Ellis' Matt Mulvihill repped Lenze.

Lee & Associates' Steve Bass and Nick Eboli represented Hydrox Labs in their renewal of an 83k SF manufacturing building located at 825 Tollgate Rd in Elgin. Cobalt Capital Partners represented themselves in the transaction.

Colliers' Brian Kling and Thomas Condon represented Colony Realty Partners in a 51k SF long-term lease renewal to Nishimoto Trading Co at 545 Fullerton Ave in Carol Stream. CBRE's Mike Sedjo repped the tenant.

Lee & Assoicates' Justin Fierz and Brian Vanosky represented Rehrig Penn Logistics in their lease of 50k SF of industrial space located at 2700 McDonough Rd in Joliet. Colliers' Vern Schultz and Peter Bourke represented building ownership.

Millennium Properties' Susan Silver has brokered the lease of the remaining retail space at 300 W Ontario St to River North Athletics.The health and fitness club signed a seven-year lease from CMK Development for the final 5,220 SF space. Thompson Coburn's David O'Keefe represented the landlord.

Eva's Bridal will reopen on Nov. 1 at Prairie Town Center following a blaze that destroyed its previous site on W 95th St. The Ghusein family signed a new 6,500 SF lease at 10808 S Cicero Ave in the heart of Oak Lawn directly across from City Hall. Newmark Knight Frank Retail's James Schutter and Kevin McNamara repped the landlord. Arthur Rogers & Co's Carole Caveney repped the tenant.

SALES NEWS

Therafin Corp has purchased a 44k SF industrial building located at 9450 W Laraway Rd in Frankfort. Lee & Associates' Walter Murphy repped the seller, Bimba Manufacturing, and NAI Hiffman's Chris Gary repped the buyer.

Colliers' Brian Kling represented Illinois Central Bus in the purchase of 640 Kimberly Dr, a 28k SF building located on 13 acres in Carol Stream. The seller was Airgas. Colliers' Matthew Stauber and Thomas Rodeno represented Airgas.

Quantum Real Estate Advisors' Jordan Kaufman brokered the sale of a single-tenant CVS in Wheaton. The property was sold in 10 days from the date the purchase agreement was signed until close of escrow. The 11k SF property was sold to private partnership for $5.3M. The seller was a private individual based in New York City


EXECUTIVE MOVES

CenterPoint's Mike Mullen stepped down as the company's CEO but will remain with the firm as vice chairman. He is succeeded by current company president, Paul Fisher, who will assume the role of president and CEO. Michael was named CEO of CenterPoint Properties in January 2005. He was a co-founder of the company in 1993 and has served as past president and trustee, EVP and COO. Incoming CEO Paul is also a founder; he's been president since 2005 and previously CFO and general counsel.

Dean Williams has joined Victor Construction Co as a project manager. He has nearly 30 years of experience in interior construction, new construction, historic renovations, laboratories, and healthcare, industrial buildings, service work, and emergency disaster response. He has a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Marquette University.

Stuart Bard has joined HOK as a senior level specialist on the firm's real estate occupancy planning and technology team. Based in HOK's Chicago office, Stuart will focus on helping a global client base identify technology and data solutions to optimize facilities performance and real estate portfolios.

The Green Building Certification Institute named Syska Hennessy Group's Rob Bolin to the inaugural class of LEED Fellows. Rob was among 34 green building professionals to be selected as LEED Fellows through a peer nomination and portfolio review process. Rob has LEED AP BD+C credentials and 22-plus years of green building experience. He is an SVP and national director of Syska's high-performance solutions team.

Strategic Storage Trust has added four district managers to handle its expanding operations. The managers will oversee the daily operations for assigned regions that include Las Vegas, The Gulf States, The Northeast and Midwest. The Midwest region will be managed by Robert Healy, who also has experience as a district manager with Hertz and Enterprise. His district area includes Chicago, Memphis, Tenn. and Jackson, Miss.
