The Young Guns
If this is the future of Chicago real estate, we're in good hands. The next few decades will bring real estate pros unafraid of a smaller commissions, design/builds, or heights (well, rooftop parties). |
Founded 11 years ago to help small and medium-sized companies in the suburban office market, Cawley Chicago Commercial now has 720k-SF on its books and is hoping to double that in 18 months. Cawley's Cassie Andrews, Dan Cawley, Caroline Sullivan, Lissa Urban, Cory Sundberg, and Rawly Lantz showed us around their Downers Grove office, near their biggest listing on Finley Road between Roosevelt and Butterfield. Dan says their secret to success is higher volume and a willingness to take smaller clients that big firms might ignore because they have smaller commissions. |
Rawly, Dan, and Cody specialize in office leasing in the I-88 and I-55 corridors, no small task given the 20% vacancies over the last few quarters. But the team employs on-the-ground brokerage techniques to gain clients: Unlike some larger offices, they don't compete with each other. There are, however, fierce competitions the golf course and a bitter Cubs-Sox intra-office rivalry. By the way, the Cawley guys challenged any real estate team to a golf match. Any takers? |
