Top 100: Opus North
Opus North averages $150-$400 million in revenue each year, developing and constructing mostly office and industrial buildings throughout the Midwest. How so? Senior real estate director Grady Hamilton tells us they're just a bunch of people who work hard. Interesting method . . .do they even teach that in business school? |
Based in Rosemont, the 65-person firm is led by (front left clockwise)Michael Yungerman, Tom Kennedy, Grady, and Danny Queenan(recently promoted to CEO and President, replacing the happily retiring Jim Heller). Even in the recession, they've completed 650k-SF of office leases (but only signed leases for 500k SF) in four buildings over the past 2.5 years in Illinois, as well a half dozen industrial transactions in the Midwest. |
Recently, Opus upped its retail presence, with strong initial leasing at Burr Ridge Village Center in the suburb of the same name and Shoppes at Fox River in Waukesha, WI. Third party construction and project mgmt, led by Tom, has also been a strong suit. Danny says they're unique in that they're one of the only developers who'll take a building from site selection to move-in, all under the same roof. |
