Top 100: RTKL's Chicago Love
September 1 is the day Lance Josal is effectively the new CEO of RTKL Architects, and also marks about three years since he moved from the Dallas office. He's been with the company for nearly 30 years but loves the new hometown because it provides such great historic architecture and talent for young architects, he says. The firm finished out its own office a year and a half ago, creating a two-story atrium on the 18th floor overlooking Buckingham Fountain. |
RTKL is currently growing its international practice. With more than 80 employees in Chicago and almost 1,000 throughout the world, the company's strong presence in Europe and Asia, along with healthcare, has been holding it steady through the recession. Recently, they've worked on the Roosevelt Collection in the South Loop, Central DuPage Hospital, and Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox. When he's not working on architecture, Lance is working with his wife on getting through a list of things they want to do in Chicago. |
