WHAT A STITCH!
Ever wondered what that fabric on your chair would look like as a dress? The Illinois Interior Design Coaltion showed us on Thursday night at their annual STITCH event at the Park West, which featured 18 designs from architects and vendors. Each dress was inspired by a different Chicago architectural icon and made from interior design materials, from carpet sample to upholstery. Here's a rendition of the Children's Museum and Pritzker Family Children's Zoo designed by maharam and C Rome Design Associates. |
We snapped the hosts, Knoll's Dani Terrell and Corporate Concepts Mark Dillon. The Knoll team designed a dress based on The Aqua Tower. The designer won awards at NeoCon this year for its healthcare fabric and wall coverings and has most recently released the new line of Open Office furniture products. Corporate Concepts just outfitted 6,000 SF of furniture for Siemens in Schaumburg. |
Here's another rendition of the Aqua tower from Harrington College of Design and Kimball Office. |
We couldn't leave the men out of the fashion world. Here's Cushing's Joe Cushing and VOA's socialite extraordinaire Nick Luzietti. VOA recently opened a new office in New York City and is still working on Roosevelt University's vertical campus in the Loop. Joe is a printer and has worked for several years on blueprints and architectural plans. We're guessing Nick's a fan of his work. |
