WHAT TO WATCH FOR
Remember Enron? Well its ex-VP Sherron Watkins shared with Roosevelt University students and alum how she uncovered fraud on the company's books yesterday at the Blackstone Hotel. She urged business students to behave in an ethical way and to watch out for situations where reward is greater than penalty and the chance of success is greater than the chance of getting caught. Sherron thinks that the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, created in the wake of Enron and Arthur Andersen, contributed to this recession by still allowing executives too much compensation. |
