Where Have All The Big Tenants Gone?
April 6, 2011
The John Buck Co's Bill Truszkowski says leasing is finallypicking up again in the CBD, and the West Loop is the place to be. Care to challenge that, or at least let him argue his side? Bill is one of the speakers on the landlord side of our Chicago State of Leasing Summit next Wednesday, April 13, at the Metropolitan Club. |
Bill (who leases 111 S Wacker, 155 N Wacker, and 142 E Ontario) says there's tight supply for Class-A buildings in the West Loop, particularly in the high-rises. And with no new construction planned, this tight supply is likely to continue.” With 13% vacancy remaining, JBC is on track to complete leasing at 155 North Wacker by the end of the year. Bill has recently found success leasing spec suites. Also, construction pricing (which has fallen by 18% to 20% in the last 24 months) has helped landlords keep the cost of TIs reasonable. To hear Bill, plus Hines SVP Tom D'Arcy, Colliers principal Drew Nieman, Transwestern Investment Services Group managing director Tom Gorman, UGL Services EVP Scott Goldman, and more, be sure to sign up for our April 13 Chicago State of Leasing Summit. |
