Developers Reveal New Wanda Vista Tower Plans
Magellan Development and the Wanda Group revealed new details for Wanda Vista, the Jeanne Gang-designed supertall proposed for Lakeshore East, at a public meeting last night. The meeting at the Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park Hotel was attended by over 300 people. Reps for Magellan and Wanda kept their cards close to the vest, but what they did reveal looked promising.
The proposed 93-story tower will contain 205 hotel rooms, 406 luxury condos located between the 13th and 91st floors, and 346 parking spaces. The condo owners will have access to a private terrace, while a shared terrace will be accessible via the hotel. The building will include four restaurants and a spa. One of the restaurants, Vista Eye, will be open all day. Another, Zhen Chinese restaurant, will be on the 10th and 11th floors and provide stunning views of downtown and the lakefront. A connector to the Chicago Riverwalk will be built, and developers are planning to build shared open space with public art as a gift to the community.
This will be Wanda Group's first investment in Chicago. When completed, the 1.6M SF, 1,144-foot-tall building will be Chicago's third-tallest skyscraper.
