Chicago

Built on the site where Jean Baptiste du Sable established the trading post that became the City of Chicago, the Equitable Building was completed 50 years ago at 401 N Michigan Ave and remains one of Streeterville's most iconic and recognizable buildings. The 35-story tower includes over 737k SF, and its tenants include Zeller Realty, Fidelity Investments and University of Chicago's Graduate School of Business. We dug around YouTube and found a 24-minute time lapse video of its construction, shot in 1962 by Jack Behrend from a penthouse at 333 N Michigan Ave looking northeast. This is a wonderful look into Chicago history and past downtown development. Click here to watch the video.
