New Construction Permit Issued For Cook County Ambulatory Facility
Clayco's construction of a new medical facility in the Illinois Medical District is nearing the finish line after the Buildings Department issued a construction permit interior fit-out of the nine-story building at Polk Street and Damen Avenue.
Clayco was awarded the contract from Cook County Health & Hospital Systems last August. The ambulatory facility cost $138M to build; Clayco was awarded a $109M contract to develop the building, which is expected to be completed in fall 2018. The work covered under this permit is estimated to cost $33.9M.
The ambulatory facility is one of several high-profile developments happening in the IMD since Dr. Suzet McKinney was named executive director in September 2015. This development is across the street from IMD Gateway, Jack Higgins' $1B mixed-use development at Ogden and Damen avenues.
