The developers of a proposed boutique hotel in Old Town will present their new plans to residents at a community meeting next week. Residents rejected initial plans for the 18-story project from Chicago Development Partners and Condor Partners at a previous meeting.

The Condor-Chicago Development JV wants to build the hotel at 1528 N Wells, now the site of O'Brien's Restaurant & Bar. But a zoning change is required if the JV wants to move forward, DNA Info reports. The project calls for up to 200 rooms averaging 300 SF each and priced from $250 to $300 a night, a rooftop lounge, meeting rooms and retail. O'Brien's would reopen in the new hotel.

Residents fear the hotel wouldn't complement the neighborhood's existing architecture. Residents also initially opposed a condo building built by Chicago Development in the neighborhood before approving of the project. The meeting will take place 7pm Jan. 25 at Franklin Fine Arts, 225 W Evergreen. [DNA]
