Gary Kachadurian Plans Fulton River District Multifamily

A development vet known for 210 N Wells and Atrium Village apartments, Gary Kachadurian has a venture that’s under contract to buy a pair of properties at Grand and Green in the Fulton River District, where he’s filed zoning applications for two buildings totaling 44 units (eight condos and 36 apartments), Crain’s Chicago Business reports. (Gary’s also building 363 rental units at 1001 W Chicago Ave, pictured.) A recent testament to the neighborhood’s multifamily strength, on a large scale, was Fifield’s $215M sale of K2 (likely the future home to many Googlers) to New York-based Georgetown. Rising prices in the area also present opportunities for neighboring ‘hoods, as both rental and office tenants are displaced and search for lower-cost options.
