John Buck Unveils Plans for River North Multifamily Project
The John Buck Co revealed plans for its proposed River North multifamily tower at a public meeting last night. The 24-story building designed by Fitzgerald Associates would contain street-level retail, 249 apartments (mostly studio and one-bedroom units), a dog run on the fifth floor, a pool and gym, and a top floor amenities lounge. The plans also call for 109 parking spaces, 35 of which would be sold to Assumption Catholic Church, which owns the parking lot at 311 W Illinois where Buck wants to build the tower.
If the project is approved, Buck would also redevelop Assumption's parish building and garden. Buck already has an agreement in place with the friars who oversee the church but the development needs the blessing of Ald Brendan Reilly (42nd) and neighbors. Another John Buck residential project, the 42-story Mila overlooking Millennium Park, is set to be delivered next year. [DNA]
