Logan Square Residents Argue Planned 95-Unit Development
Last week, Logan Square residents debated the merits of a planned 95-unit residential development near the California Blue Line station. The meeting at the offices of Ald. Joe Moreno (1st) drew a packed house of people both supporting and opposing the project. The seven-story building slated for 2841-45 W Belden would replace vacant buildings with apartments ranging from studio apartments to two-bedroom units on 17.5k SF of land, DNAInfo reports. This area of Logan Square has been the center of several residential and mixed-use developments in the works, and opponents of the projects argue against the density involved and what percentage of these units will be earmarked for affordable housing. This particular development will set aside 10% of units for affordable housing. [DNA]
