This Project Went From 52 Apartments To 138 Micro-Units
Savoy Development is ready to present its plans for a 135-unit micro-apartment development to Logan Square residents next week. The project, two years in the making, has undergone some changes since Savoy first announced it.
Originally, Savoy wanted to build 52 apartments at 2340 N California and received approval from the City Plan Commission. With Logan Square's status as a neighborhood on the rise, Savoy called an audible and announced the change to micro-units. The expansion raised the height of the proposed building to six stories and contained 48 parking spaces. The latest version of the development includes a pocket park, DNA Info reports.
Community groups previously wanted the building to be no taller than five stories and set aside 10% of the units for affordable housing. The meeting will be held 6:30pm on May 10 at Haas Park, 2402 N Washtenaw. [DNA]
