Leading the Office Revolution
Not everybody in the workforce is a Millennial yearning for a foosball table. Office Revolution co-founder Mark Knepper (along with co-founders Dave Feder, Brian LeMay, and Bernie Donaldson) says that smaller office markets are still using conventional furniture and aren't so quick to turn their office into a Starbucks. That’s why two companies are handling these distinct office tastes: Rework by Roe (formerly Roe/Evolution Interiors) remanufactures and repurposes office furniture (think converting old cubicle walls into new benching systems); Office Revolution works with leading designers on forward-looking spaces from scratch. With Teknion as the marquee brand and over 200 additional manufacturers, the design possibilities accommodate all tastes, from doors-closed corporate culture to an open, collaborative team. Mark points out the simple logic of designing the right office for the right staff: you can’t put a Millennial in a corner office; he’ll think he’s getting a “time out” and can’t play/collaborate with his friends.
