Bear Construction Builds Chicagoland
In 1984, “Da Bears” did pretty well moving toward a Super Bowl title. At the same time, a construction company was formed with the same name and quickly earned victories of its own. Nick, George, and Jim Wienold founded Bear Construction to bring customized construction services to the Chicago market. This includes all aspects of commercial construction, from tenant, medical, and data/technology interior build outs to ground-up construction projects. Recent tenant assignments include Chicago Title & Trust (95k SF) and the Army Corps of Engineers (55k SF), along with the redevelopment of 111 W Jackson and 330 N Wabash. In 2013, the firm completed 1,200 projects and generated $132M in revenue. Since that Super Bowl era, Bear Construction has grown to 205 employees, and revenue has increased 140% since 2009—an event worthy of its own Super Bowl Shuffle.
