Family Business: The JLL Sisters
Meet JLL sisters Heather Filkins (PR lead for investor services) and Brooke Houghton (tenant rep broker). Heather was 8 and Brooke was 5 in this throwback pic. The pair loves grabbing coffee together, they say, and Brooke regularly brings in bags full of clothes for Heather’s daughter, who’s three years younger than hers. Brooke has been in tenant rep brokerage for about 10 months after transitioning from PR/marketing. She’s working on a few deals with JLL’s Meredith O’Connor and recently completed a deal with DLR Architects at 333 W Wacker (with Jeff Liljeberg).
Here's their "now" pic. Heather will be headed to Minnesota (Lake Minnetonka area) where they grew up to celebrate the 4th of July. At JLL, she works to increase visibility and drive business for JLL’s investor services, which include capital markets, property management, agency leasing, and the national investor account team. She started fostering a 22-month-old three years ago and the adoption is going through this summer, so she and Brooke will both have a big reason to celebrate with the official addition of a new family member. They’ll also jet off to Oronoco, Minn. later in August to go antiquing.
