Some Final Ice Bucket Challenges
Transwestern has raised more than $22,000 in less than three weeks for the ALS Association through an internal Ice Bucket Challenge honoring George Garfield, its former West region president who was recently diagnosed with the disease. Transwestern COO Mark Doran kicked off the challenge by jumping into a hot tub filled with ice water (while wearing a suit), and nominating the entire firm. Team members blew past a goal of $10,000 in three weeks, so chairman and founder Robert Duncan, president and CEO Larry Heard, and president of the Americas Chip Clark took the challenge, above.
Cushman & Wakefield's Chicago office (above), was nominated by C&W CEO of Americas Jim Underhill and Chicago market leader Shawn Mobley to take the icy plunge, which they completed in honor of Ice Bucket Challenge co-founder Corey Griffin, who recently passed away. They nominated members of C&W's Rosemont office, who also got a bit wet.
The Ice Bucket Challenge brought incredible funds and awareness to ALS (which raised over $113M as of today), and highlighted commercial real estate’s giving spirit. Let’s keep this going all year!
