Citadel founder/CEO Ken Griffin, Illinois' richest man, is reportedly in talks to buy a $200M condo at 220 Central Park South in Manhattan. Griffin, whose net worth is $7B, supposedly beat out a Qatari businessman for three floors in the building, dubbed the "billionaire's bunker," in what is believed to be the most expensive single residential deal in US history. The three floors total 18k SF and would be an investment property for Griffin.

Griffin's also got a deal in the works that will bust through NYC's rent ceiling: He reportedly leased 220k SF for Citadel at 425 Park Ave for $300/SF. That would be the most expensive office lease in New York's history by far—the previous high was around $200/SF.

He's on an expansion kick throughout the Big Apple: Griffin bought another apartment in NYC earlier this year and two condos on the 37th and 46th floors of the Waldorf Astoria Chicago for $13.3M and $16M. Meanwhile, Griffin and wife Anne Dias-Griffin are mired in a contentious divorce. Dias-Griffin seeks $1M in child support per month and accused her husband of banning her from their homes in Aspen and Miami. [CNBC]
