Get Ready for Chi-town's First TargetExpress
The long vacant space at 401 E Illinois St, once the home of Chicago's original gourmet grocer Fox & Obel, will soon become the city's first TargetExpress. The 24k SF Streeterville store will debut in October as one of eight shops the company is opening this year. The first TargetExpress—a mini, quick shop version of the typical 130k SF store—opened in the chain's hometown of Minneapolis last year, Crain's Chicago reports. TargetExpress will have grab-and-go sandwiches and salads, a Starbucks, a pharmacy, Chicago sports merchandise, men's and women's apparel, and home and beauty goods. [Crain's]
