McCaffery Lands Michigan Brewery For Hyde Park's Harper Court
A decade ago, Hyde Park residents had to venture out of their neighborhood for shopping and nightlife. That's all changed, and the neighborhood's retail landscape continues to evolve with the news that a popular Michigan brewery is opening a brewpub there.
Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales is opening a 5,800 SF restaurant and brewery in Harper Court, the 1.1M SF mixed-use project jointly developed by the University of Chicago and McCaffery Interests. The project features a 12-story, 150k SF office tower occupied by the university, 250k SF of commercial space and 53k SF of ground-level retail. Jolly Pumpkin would join Native Foods Cafe, Hyatt Place and LA Fitness as part of the retail programming.
Jolly Pumpkin Hyde Park will have more than 30 taps with a variety of beer, cider and custom cocktails; indoor and outdoor seating; and a casual pub menu. It's the fourth brewpub opened by the brewery, which specializes in farmhouse-style ales. Jolly Pumpkin is targeting a late spring/early summer 2017 opening.
