Cedar Point Again Ranked World's No. 2 Amusement Park
Cedar Point is again the world's second-best amusement park, according to readers of Amusement Today. The Sandusky park ranked behind Europa-Park, which is in Germany, for the fourth year in a row, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
For 16 years, Cedar Point was top in the magazine's annual poll, but it dropped to second in 2014. Whatever the ranking, the park is a major draw of visitors to northern Ohio. Attendance has grown from 3.5 million in 2015 to 3.6 million in 2016.
Other parks in the top five were Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee; Knoebels Amusement Resort in Elysburg, Pennsylvania; and Disneyland in Anaheim, California.
Cedar Point's 310-foot-tall Millennium Force won accolades from the magazine's readers as the second-best steel coaster in the world, behind Fury 325 at Carowinds, a Cedar Fair park in North Carolina.
