Virtual Reality Arcade Opening In Parma
VR Rage, a virtual reality arcade, is opening this weekend in Parma. The VR arcade (or VRcade) will feature 14 different games and is at the leading edge of a boom in such locations, Cleveland.com reports.
The attraction for gamers is something like arcade video games in the early 1980s: a place to experience the latest in gaming without going to the expense of buying equipment for the home. At this stage of VR development, such equipment is quite expensive.
Grand View Research predicts that by 2025, the VR gaming industry will take in more than $45B in revenue worldwide.
According to VR Rage owner Tom Jenkins, people are eager to try the arcade. He is confident enough in its success that he is planning another location on Cleveland's East Side.
His VRcade offers eight bays for gamers to try out games for 45-minute periods. VR Rage will also offer beer and bar food for players to consume before or after their gaming experience.
