I?ll see your 1,200-space parking garage and raise you a casino addition. The $20M projects are no gamble for the Chickasaw Nation (straight north on I-35 in Thackerville, Okla.), who tapped Hill & Wilkinson for the construction at Winstar Casino. Hill & Wilkinson business development manager John Riggins tells us the firm is working on the casino?s north face addition (Q1 ?12 completion target) right now, which includes the installation of a Vegas-style porte cochere fountain for a greater drive-up appeal. The expansion will also add space for additional gaming machines. John anticipates round-the-clock construction on the project because it needs to be completed and open before New Year?s Eve. (Over-Under is Dec. 31... anyone want action?) | |
John says the Winstar expansion, which just started late this summer, benefits from Hill & Wilkinson?s ability to do a design-assist process because trying to complete the project with a normal construction schedule would be next to impossible. Hill & Wilkinson also just rolled out two car dealerships: the $10M Honda of Burleson and the $20M Park Place Mercedes Grapevine. John says the firm has a number of projects in the works that haven?t closed yet ranging from healthcare, clinical, laboratory testing to manufacturing. John took some time away from work for a quick trip to Santa Rosa Beach (near Destin, Fla.) with his family (including two boys, ages 5 and 3 and his 4-month-old girl). He's also eagerly awaiting the dove season opener. |
