With alphabet soup so thick that the Campbell's Kids would be proud, North Central Texas Regional Certification Agency executive director Sheena Morgan summarized the certification process Wednesday for getting a Minority/Women Business Enterprise (M/WBE) at the Fort Worth CREW luncheon in the historic Ashton Depot. As the first regional certification authority in the nation, the NCTRCA organized in 1986 to simplify the procedure instead of having to go through it for every agency. Sheena says certification is a great marketing tool, but no guarantee of getting contracts. The NCTRCA will also offer guidance, not just a unified forms. |
Lively Fort Worth CREW members Joanna Cloud, Lyle Thornton,Debbie Fulwiler, Barbara Fife and Anna Carrillo (standing) tell us they survived their first murder mystery show fundraiser last week. Deemed a successful venture to raise funds for The Women's Center, we hear there was a prominent Fort Worth attorney who portrayed (very convincingly, Joanna says) a boozing floozy as part of the colorful cast of characters from CREW members to professional actors. Debbie says they hope to make this an annual event. |
