DECKED OUT
March 2, 2011
The Woodall Rodgers Deck Park inched forward this past weekend as it reached the halfway point on beam construction to form the park?s structural foundation toward that 2012 completion. The 5.2-acre park will serve as a central gathering space for Dallas in the heart of the city and create an urban green space over the existing Woodall Rodgers Freeway between Pearl and St. Paul streets in downtown. Plans include a performance stage, restaurant, shaded walking paths, a dog park, a children?s park, a park for dog's who look like children, great lawn, water features, an area for games, and much more. The park?s design is led by The Office of James Burnett, Thomas Phifer and Partners, and Jacobs Engineering Group. TxDOT selected Archer Western as the contractor for the deck plaza. Bjerke Management Services provides project management services to the Woodall Rodgers Park Foundation, which last week received another$9M in new, private donations. |
