Duke Realty's Industrial Strength

Duke Realty Jeff Thorton

Duke Realty SVP Jeff Thornton says that the company will continue to be active on the development and acquisition fronts during 2013, especially in the industrial and medical sectors. To date, Duke has assembled a 14.8M SF industrial office portfolio in Dallas, which hit 91% occupancy by the end of 2012. Jeff says there has been an increase in development activity on the bulk industrial front, and much of 2012 was spent firming up occupancy in the portfolio and chasing build-to-suits. (Large build-to-suits were suddenly hot last year.) User requirements in the 800k to 1.2M SF range have been buzzing around the South Dallas and DFW Airport submarkets. The reason: there has not been a great deal of large industrial space on the ground and ready to go for the past 18 months. For more info on our sponsor, click here.
