GO BIG OR GO HOME
March 26, 2010
In July, the Cotton Bowl Athletic Association saw a chance to live up to its mantra of “go big or go home” when it moved into 4k SF at the new Cowboys Stadium, the only non-Cowboys tenant in the stadium. After 30 years in its previous space, the association scored when it took advantage of the high class digs, bringing in HKS to create space worthy of an end zone celebration; it combined contemporary furnishings and traditional football elements. (Doesn't it make you want to start the wave?) | |
HKS interior designer Alison Vaughn says that beyond the glass, a chromed helmet sculpture draws visitors into the space and leads them to the Cotton Bowl history wall. Memorable plays from games throughout the Classic’s 73-year history are etched in the office’s expansive glass entry. A 16-panel HD video board plays nostalgic highlight reels or live game-day activities. On April 14, the Cotton Bowl Athletic Association will host the AT&T Cotton Bowl Hall of Fame celebration (which is open to the public in case you wanna catch a glimpse of football greatness up close). |
