GUESS WHO'S COMING TO TEXAS?

| Everybody. Arledge Partners Real Estate Group prez/CEO Susan Arledge (above, in December at a Colliers open house at Park Seventeen, between Wallace Financial?s Bill Wallace and Colliers?Hunter Blanks) tells us she's seeing companies fleeing markets that aren't so business friendly, like California and the Northeast. Two relo examples: Copart and Consolidated Electronics. Companies are bringing jobs to North Texas with relos from some corporate HQs, back-office, data centers, or regional operations. Copart CEO Jay Adair says the California auto parts company is moving to the Dallas area next year to be closer to customers. Susan says the best news is that 2009 and 2010 are gone, and, so far, 2011 is less terrible: ?I see some positive things on the horizon with job growth and that's what we've all been waiting for.? |
