We ventured out to The Ritz-Carlton Friday evening for CBRE's 13th Annual Chefs Showcase and caught up with Kasey Bond (wife of JLL?s Bo Bond, who was off schmoozing), Woodbine?s Eric Gilbert, and Crescent?s Katy Cleary. The trio was among the hundreds at the fundraiser, which has netted more than $1.2M directly donated to Camp John Marc. That money has sent some 5,000 children to camp. Along with tasty samples by swell-known area chefs, the event also served up some tasty Cosmopolitans, blackjack, and a silent auction. Lots of heels kicked up, too, as The Emerald City Band played into the wee hours. |

We also worked our way over to find Cushman & Wakefield of Texas senior director Dan Cook, his wife Judy, and CBRE vice chairman Jack Fraker. Jack tells us that Camp John Marc is dedicated to serving children living with chronic and terminal illnesses and named for the late son of Myers & Crow prez Marc Myers. The good folks at CBRE also spend about a week at Camp John Marc as volunteers each summer, he says. We're assuming they trade in the suits and ties for shorts, sunscreen ,and bug spray. |
