KISSING BABIES
Early voting in Dallas began Monday in anticipation of the May 14 election featuring two familiar faces from DFW commercial real estate: JLL?s Brian Oley and Okpa Co's Edward Okpa. Brian (here with his son, Jude, his wife Jessica, and Brian?s boss, Roger Staubach) is running for City Council District 14. Edward is running for mayor. Brian is the co-lead of JLL's data center solutions practice group, and you can find more about him here. His platform: safety, responsible development, and fiscal responsibility. | |
Edward, above last year at a gubernatorial fundraiser at his home for Gov. Rick Perry, says he wants to be mayor to make a difference for the people of the city. The African immigrant turned US citizen is making his second venture into the race with the following platform: neighborhood revitalization, economic development, and job creation; public safety with a plan for peace officers living within the city limits; eliminate bloated budgetary practices; and attract international trade and investment. Edward says he's lived the American dream going from busboy to successful entrepreneur to a civil and social servant. For more about his campaign, go here. |
