Remembering Susan Halsey: 1959-2014

Dallas-Fort Worth
Placeholder

The local real estate community mourns the death of Jackson Walker managing partner Susan Halsey who passed away Dec. 19 after battling cancer. She was the first woman attorney when she joined her firm in 1983 and often recalled the story of being the first woman to have lunch at Dallas’ Petroleum Club. She opened Jackson Walker's Fort Worth office in 1988 and earned the title of managing partner in 2010, leading the firm’s statewide real estate practice group. Susan repped some of the biggest players in Dallas real estate including Crescent Real Estate Equities, Chesapeake Energy and Texas Health Resources, and was named a Bisnow 2014 Power Woman (far right, at our event in June). She is survived by husband Gordy and children Taylor and Brooke. Services were Tuesday. The family has requested in lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Women’s Center of Tarrant County (817-927-4006) or Cook Children’s Medical Center Pastoral Care (682-885-4030). You may sign her guestbook here.
