SILVER BULLET
Jaster-Quintanilla and Phoenix 1 Restoration and Construction
As the State Fair of Texas wrapped up, Jaster-Quintanilla and Phoenix 1 Restoration and Construction joined forces to deliver the record-breaking bid of $101,000 at this year’s youth livestock auction for the grand champion steer, Silver Bullet (pictured with JQ principals Steve Lucy (white shirt), Tom Scott (red checkered shirt) and Chris Story (navy blazer), assorted family and friends, along with 15-year-old auction winner Shelby Womack (right of steer). Shelby, whose steer weighed in at 1,325 pounds, received $30,000 of the auction proceeds for his future education. The remaining funds are distributed as educational scholarships. Steve says JQ has lots of Aggies and Longhorns (from UT, not the four-legged kind) on staff and the firm recently moved into the former Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association space, so supporting the youth scholarship program in this style was a natural fit. And, that’s no bull.
