Space Invader

Space Invader
Here’s something else that’s bigger in Texas: the real estate valuation and counseling firms. The nation’s largest, Integra Realty Resources, is growing its Fort Worth office. Expecting the market to pick up in the next year, the office (one of 57 nationwide) is expanding its space and hiring.

Managing Partner Ben Loughry, seated right, tells us the company outgrew its current space despite the stagnant market. When we stopped by yesterday, the IRR folks were pumping their veins with caffeine before an early Thanksgiving buffet (complete with pumpkin pie). Staffers Keri RedfordT.J. Future IRR Office

After ringing in the New Year, IRR will expand its Lexington Place offices at 930 W. 1st by 50% to 14,400 SF. IRR will also get an ego boost, with its name plastered on the building’s outer façade. Spurring some of that growth, IRR recently helped Lowe’s Home Centers get their properties’ values adjusted, Ben said.

The firm is in the middle of consulting for the Brazos River Authority on the disposal of 1,600 parcels at Possum Kingdom Lake. While Ben plans a dove-hunting trip to Argentina in May, his partner, managing director Donald Sherwood, hits the road in February for Matamoros, Mexico, on a mission trip with First United Methodist Church of Mansfield. Donnie said he always receives more than he gives, which must be a lot since he's made about a dozen trips in the past 12 years.
