Starting off Strong
September 16, 2010
Veteran CRE exec Jesse Pruitt developed, managed, and leased more than 50M SF of office, warehouse, build-to-suit, and design-build facilities during his 35-year career. Now, he's launched his own company: Somervell Commercial Realty. Jesse's firm (working with Colliers International's Chris Teasdale) made its first deal this summer repping Tulsa-based Quik N Tasty Foods in its purchase of a 316k SF distribution center at 4200 Railport Pkwy. in Midlothian. Quik N Tasty is the parent of QuikTrip, so we now crave a tankard of Diet Coke with crushed ice and cherry syrup and a Nutty Buddy. | |
On a 49-acre site, the three-year-old building has 72-foot ceilings, 38 truck docks, and will be retrofitted with a high-tech racking system. The building has 41k SF of freezer space and almost 4k SF of office space, with room to add more. QuikTrip will use the center to distribute to all of its stores in the DFW area. Lee & Associates'Trey Fricke and Reid Bassinger repped the seller, Chicago-based Kehe Food Distributors. A few interesting nuggets (mmm, now we want a tacquito, too) about Jesse: He's one of the original four founders of The Real Estate Council and an avid polo player. |
