Triple and Going for the Cycle

Dallas-Fort Worth
Triple and Going for the Cycle
We'll overuse this baseball theme started yesterday, if that’s what it takes to end a recession. Transwestern’s industrial real estate team plans to hit for the cycle, after tripling its size in one year.

Principal Brant Landry and SVP Henry Knapek

Principal Brant Landry and SVP Henry Knapek tell us the firm needed more brokers to secure industrial properties, so it formed a new team in Oct '08, grew from three to 14 brokers, and 6M to 20M SF in the property management division. Now, the team has 500k SF to market in the former Whirlpool Building in CentrePort, south of DFW Airport. During rare down time, Brant likes to head out to the family ranch and watch his little boy scamper out in the country.

One Hanover Park

It seemed a good time to visit the TW office brokerage team— including SVP Justin Miller  and principal Kim Brooks, below— who've added to their plate marketing three full floors (100K SF) of One Hanover Park on the North Dallas Tollway south of Trinity Mills. The right amount of space gets the top of building signage, too. (Climbing skills are another means to that end.) LNR Partners recently took building ownership.

With the addition of One Hanover, Justin says activity along the Tollway in the last 60 days is encouraging. Looking up, things are. OK, Justin didn’t say it like that, but the Yoda voice seemed to fit with Justin’s recent evenings at home focusing on light saber battles between him and one of his two children. Kim, on the other hand, is the epitome of a soccer mom. She vows never to drive a minivan, but on her reading list: Your Trip to Disney World with Kids.
